Renter Memberships

Scatchet Head is a private South Whidbey residential community offering members use of numerous amenities including a first-class swimming pool, renovated sports courts, boat ramps to Puget Sound and stunning vistas of Washington state beauty from one of the best locations on Whidbey Island.
 
Lot ownership conveys the use of everything the community offers as well as the right to vote in Scatchet Head Community Club elections. Members who wish share these amenities with friends may do so with certain limitations established to best serve the entire community.*
 
Owners who rent their homes should be aware that membership --- and the use of the clubhouse access keycard --- is for private use of members and their families --- membership and the access keycard are not transferable to renters.
 
Renters who wish to use community facilities, however, may apply for a separate renter’s membership for an annual fee.** Renter membership applications, which must be accompanied by written approval from the member/lot/home-owner, are not automatically approved. Applications, submitted to the office, are reviewed and approved (or denied) by the board of trustees. For a renter application to be approved, landlord owners must be in good standing in the community (with no covenant violations and a zero balance owed {or be current with payments on the club's four-month, no-interest payment plan}). Once a renter application is approved and annual fees are paid, renters receive a parking decal and an access keycard and are entitled to the use of all community amenities. Renter memberships do not convey voting rights.

 * Members must accompany and remain with guests using SHCC amenities. Members are limited to five guests at any one time. 
** The current renter membership fee is $120 a year (for 12 months, beginning in January and expiring December 31 of that same year).
